Sunday, January 8, 2012 — Life is an “Ode to Joy”

“Epiphany:  A sudden, intuitive perception of or insight into the reality or essential meaning of something, usually initiated by some simple or commonplace occurrence or experience.”

Have you ever had an epiphany experience?  Have you ever been doing a simple task, and all of a sudden, someone turns the light bulb on over your head?  That “aha!” moment?  Joy typically accompanies an epiphany, and sometimes a sense of celebration or triumph.

Friday, January 6, the 12th day of Christmas, is celebrated as Epiphany for Christians, commemorating the birth of the Christ as revealed to the gentiles through the magi.  It is a day of joy as we celebrate the birth of our true Identity within us, freeing us to start this year anew.

The Sunday service will focus on the place of joy in our lives when we allow the birth of holiness to be made real in us.
