SNV Daily Affirmation – Day 56, March 26

7 DAYS OF AFFIRMATIONS FOR NONVIOLENCE FOR MOTHER EARTH

Day 56, March 26:

Today, I appreciate the earth’s bounty and all of those who work to make food available to me.

Albert Einstein said, “There are only two ways to live your life.  One is as though nothing is a miracle.  The other is as if everything is.”  As you begin each meal today, stop to honor all the hands that brought it to you and bless the earth for its bounty.  Consider the farmer, the providers of seed, fertilizer, equipment, the people who make, use and repair the harvesting machines, who make and drive the delivery trucks, the food processing plant workers, the food store employees, the families of all those people and so many others who did their part in putting the food on your table.  Honor as well the sun, the water, the air, the birds, the bees, and every other aspect of nature that had to be present in just the right amounts for you to be fed.  We’re all in this together!

We learn to practice nonviolence one step at a time, one choice at a time, one day at a time. This is how each of us, in our own way, moves the world in the direction of peace. This is the Season for Nonviolence.

This is a part of 64 days of affirmations commemorating the Season for Nonviolence, the span of days between the deaths of Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr.  These writings have been adapted from 64 Days and Ways to Practice Nonviolence by the Global New Thought Movement and Compassionate Activism for Global Healing by the Association for Global New Thought and added to by Tanya Mayer and Paul Friedman. They are grouped in 9 categories: nonviolence toward self, in close relationships, in my communication, in recreation, in my perspective of others, in daily living, in work, for mother earth and in our world.
