Sunday, September 21 – Equinox = Balance!

The Autumn Equinox is upon us, marking when day and night are equal in length, and the transition from the warm days of Summer to the cooling of Autumn and Winter. What can one learn from this rhythm in nature about equality and balance?

The spiritual path often seems to call for extremes, for sacrifice, even to the point of giving up one’s sense of self. But just as the natural rhythm of the seasons transitions from the extremes of the solstices, to the balance found in the equinoxes, so too is the spiritual path a rhythm of extremes and balance.

This Sunday, participants at Interfaith Fellowship will explore with Rev. Perry the principle of balance on the path, creating a greater sense of harmony and equanimity, while remaining open to the extremes often associated with awakening. Perhaps God calls the seeker to what the Buddha named the Middle Way, or what our culture knows as “one day at a time.”

Inspirational sacred word and stories of compassion, interspersed with an eclectic musical mix provided by Music Minister Jon Michael, culminate in a thought-provoking, practical, and moving message on this important theme.

Come join us — be inspired to live another week full of love!
